in thread Installing Perl modules on Win64/Perl 5.8

That will not work because there are no repositories available for x64 5.8.8 (only 5.10). So in light of this situation I need to know if there is another way I can get x64 Perl modules for 5.8.8.

What did you get when you tried it? (c&p the output).

      It should yield:
C:\_64>ppm-shell ppm 4.10 (ActivePerl 827) Copyright (C) 2010 ActiveState Software Inc. All rights reserve ppm> search * Downloading ActiveState Package Repository packlist...not found *** no packages matching '*' found *** ppm>
Looks like there's no ppm repo for w64 perl-5.8 ... at ActiveState, at least.

      Cheers,
      Rob

Which leaves the OP with the three choices already posted:

        1. Use a 32-bit 5.8.
        2. Use a 64-bit 5.10
        3. Build his own

Insisting that someone else (be it AS or anyone else) build a package repository so that he can insist on using a 64-bit version of 5.8 seems a little ....
