You're always inside a thread, so yes, you can create threads while executing in a thread.

You provided neither a description of your problem nor simple means to recreate it. Could it be the one reported in http://rt.perl.org/rt3/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=70602?

The bug report contains two workarounds. 1) to add `@_=()` [download] and 2) to upgrade to bleadperl later than e81cd4d2c506bfc28460d324d94b81010f5ee455 (5.12)	[reply] [d/l]
