Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

My boss wants to encode our source in such a way that that the code looks like the word 'buffy' repeated again and again. If it could be shaped into a picture of Buffy riding a pony, that would be even better.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I think you'll find that Pony does just what you want.

Update: Pony output looks like this:

use Pony; b Uf Fybuf FyBUfF YbUffYBU FfybuffYb uffYbuFfybu FfYBUfFyBuf FYbuffYBUFf ybUfFYBuffyb uFfyBuFFYBuff ybufFybUFFybU ffYBufFYBuFF YBuFFyBuFF yBUfFyBufFY buffybUffyb UfF YBuFfYbuFFybu fFYB UffyBuFFYbUFFy bUff YBuFFYbufFyBuffybUfFybufFyB UfF YbUffYBUFfybuffYbuffyBuFfybu ffybUfFYBuFFYbUFFYbUFfyBufFYBuffYb uF FyBUffYBUfFybUfFybuffybUffYbUFF Ybu ffybuFfybuFfyBuffyBuFFYbUfFybUF fy buFFYBuffYbUFFybuffyBufFyBUFF ybu FFYBUFfybuffYbuFFYBuFfybufFy Bu ffyBUFfYbUFFyBUFfYBuFfYbuFfy Bu FfyBUFFyBufFYBufFYbUFfYBUf fyBu FfybuffybUFFybUffYB UfF ybUfFYbuFFYbUF fyb UfFYBuffybuFf yb UfFyB UfFYBU fF YbUf fYbU Ff yBUF fYBu ff ybuFf yBUF fy Bu fF yBUF fY B UF Fyb Uf fy bU FfY b u ff y b uF f yb uf fy bU f FYBuFFYbUFFYbUFfyBufFYBuffYbuFFyBUffYBUfFYbUFFybuFfYbuffyBuFfybufFyBuf +fyBUFFYbUfFYBUFfYbUfFybuFfyBUFfyBuffYbufFyBUFFYbUfFYBUFfYb

First, I will let you know this post will be controversial, but I urge you not to reap it, as it is not a personal attack, just a product of free speech.

This question is a set-up, tailor-made for (and probably posted by) davorg, so he can gain some xp with his answer.

This question was posted on May 25th, 14:04. Davorg's answer was posted on May 25th, 14:05. A little too quickly for my liking. I just downvoted it, and saw that people had wasted 44 ++ votes on something that I firmly believe is an abuse of the system. By a Saint no less.

I am posting this as an AM because I don't want to be ostracized by my peers for speaking out. Too bad we can't be honest with each other. Davorg, I give you the opportunity to defend (lie) yourself, but you've lost the respect of a fellow PerlMonk.

Too bad. What a waste of votes.

Yes, of course, the original post was from me. I really didn't think that anyone would ever think anything different.

But it wasn't done to gain XP or abuse the system. I'm genuinely surprised that I've got so many ++ votes from it.

What happened was, we were discussing silly Perl modules in the CB and I pointed out Pony.pm. Someone said something along the lines of "Well I'll know what to say if anyone points in SOPW asking how to encrypt their code into the word 'buffy' in the shape of a pony". I considered it too good an opportunity to miss and posted just that as an AM.

It certainly wasn't intended as an "abuse of the system". It was just a silly joke. Looks to me like you need to find yourself a new sense of humour.

You could ask anyone in London.pm... I suspect they have a lot of dreams ideas about Buffy.

Very funny, and an obvious "plant"

But still funny, David, and timely for me to share here at work.
