You're looking to learn the difference between "lazy quantifiers" and "possessive quantifiers." If it's easier for you, try reading "Mastering Regular Expressions, Friedl (O'Reilly)" or the "Regular Expressions Pocket Reference, Stubblebine (O'Reilly)"	[reply]
