Re^2: phone paging with perl

I have looked on Google and CPAN and I don't have any answers...I want to write PERL code to do this, not use a service. I can do it easily with SENDMAIL but what I've seen looks like Net::SMTP is a good choice...the CPAN notes say do a

new{'mailhost'}
[download]

and I don't know what 'mailhost' means for VERIZON. I am not asking for a code-writing service...I am a programmer but can't find this particular answer and to be frank, the hypothesis that I'm looking for someone to write code for me is insulting. (but thanks anyway for your helpful answer)

You probably want Verizon's Help Page (Second result googling for "verizon email hostname") outgoing.verizon.net it says.	[reply]

and I don't know what 'mailhost' means for VERIZON ~~A little checking (search for "verizon wireless email phone" got back (among others): http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic59804.html:~~ ~~Your phone's email address is (your mobile phone number)@vtext.com.~~ ~~Therefore, your mail host would be vtext.com.~~ Correction: (I read the question wrong) Mail host is your mailer (for google mail it would be imap.gmail.com if that is where you send mail from. Local SMTP servers may vary as to name. If the mail server is not under your control, check with the administrator responsible for a user name, password and SMTP server name.	[reply]

That's a much better post. You should have said that in the beginning. You will need to ask Verizon (or their website) what the mail server host name is, although you could try guessing what they called it. SMTP.verizon.comOrSomething	[reply]
