td has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi , Im using HP-UX and ive installed perl 5.8.8 , and ive downloaded about 50 perl modules that are needed for what i want to do - these includes all the modules i actually need and all the dependencies , they are in .tar.gz format. What i would like to know is if there is a way i can point CPAN to that directory which all the .tar.gz perl module files are in and it automatically installs them one by one. Thanks for your help

    There is an easy way. See:

    App::cpanminus
    cpanm

    Change to the directory with the tar.gz file, then run

    cpanm /path/to/tar.gz
    It'll install one or fifty. It's up to you.
