Hm. Seems fairly obvious given the comprehensive feed back. You are attempting to write a ".qual file" with APIs intended for writing FASTA files. FASTA sequences do not contain spaces. (Apparently) ".qual" data does.

That's what the regex defines and all the commas above are. They are delimiting the errant spaces between your qual data values.

The solution: Don't use O'Woe engineered modules.
