Okay, I realized that node might be easy to interpret as rather harsh. It wasn't written harshly. It was written with a chuckle.

For those who haven't noticed, I'm easily amused. Another thing I find amusing about this thread is how many different people have jumped in to thrash ahmad and how many of the thrashings are either off-target or petty. Granted, I think ahmad deserves a great deal of "credit" for motivating this response.

But I also want to make clear to ahmad that I, for one, am not overlooking the places where ahmad has made good points.

It also looks like ahmad might be somewhat defensive at this point. That is completely expected given the thrashings.

But it might be better if the many participants (and don't get me wrong, I find the level of participation refreshing for this subject) would not restrict themselves to trying to get ahmad to change attitude via thrashings. Keeping an open mind and acknowledging the good points might reduce the defensiveness and this might facilitate an attitude change.

And it might be better for ahmad to acknowledge the repeated point of many of the thrashings and try to research the particulars of this site and its performance problems. Granted, it isn't trivial to research such. But I, for one, have certainly written several nodes about such. Also, try to present suggestions in a manner that acknowledges that a solution working for somebody else on the internet doesn't mean it must work here too.
