Anyways, hello all. I am a Service Rep tired of slogging through page after page of ridiculously long log files, finding frustration at least as frequently as good fortune. To alleviate my pain, I have decided that I have a real need for specific parsing tools, and so I am jumping head first with both feet into coding my very own. In the end, I intend to have created a suite of useful tools run from a GUI, and will also maintain a database of error messages for the tools to refer to as needed.

I purchased a book on Perl, have started writing some code (with some success I am thrilled to report), and am scratching the surface of SQL. I have no idea how much work I am committing to here, but I do know that I am looking forward to what I can learn from it.
