yes, purple will work without gui pidgin. It might require more effort on your part, but it will work

    yes, with finch i can get it to run without the pidgin GUI using the (lib) purple but not natively under win32 because of the missing ncurses library. For win32 there is only cygwin an iam kinda clueless how i can try that when there is no option to compile it natively. Can libpurple be used without pidgin or finch because i didnt saw any options for this ?
