After writing the same scripts to perform PostgreSQL hot backup over and over again, I eventually got bored and I decided to write a tool that centralises the whole thing from a central configuration file.

It's still a developer release, but it'd be great if some of you can give it a go and report any major defects.

Here it is: pg_cryobit

Cheers!

I'm getting ready to give this a whirl. Any advice? I ask because I don't see that anyone else has commented.
