'`second`' is the value returned in one case and not in the other. The lack of symmetry adds confusion.	[reply] [d/l]

You're welcome to propose and submit a better patch which doesn't confuse you. I don't think of myself as a good technical writer, when I see a discussion about an undocumented feature, I try to come up with a patch. Feel free to improve it!
