Perl File update

kpofcochin has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi team,
Am new to Perl and i want to know, how to update a particular word/line in a file, without re-writing into new file/line.
i tried with tie, it works for existing word replacements, not for new words/append to any line in file.
can anyone suggest a better way?!!

Try Tie::File. This can do everything you want. The doco has quite a few examples and here's a thread from yesterday with some more example code. -- Ken	[reply]
