Fuse and fuse

OtcFormula has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Greetings brothers and sisters!

I am having a difficulty with the CPAN Fuse module in the DynaLoader phase, apparently unable to find the "fuse_loop" function.

All versions contemporary, any info available. Thoughts appreciated!

Given there are only 4 pass test results out of 461 platform/version (http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Fuse+0.09) tests your chances of getting the module to work look pretty slim! On the other hand there was a developer release in May this year so it seems the developer hasn't altogether given up on the project. True laziness is hard work	[reply]

Given there are only 4 pass test results out of 461 platform/version Given that it requires FUSE C library and the FUSE kernel module., a very non-standard thing, that doesn't mean much. Anyway, it seems like a typical LD_LIBRARY_PATH problem echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH ldd Fuse.so ...	[reply]

Thanks for the help. I've never had to muck with LD_LIBRARY_PATH or ldconfig with perl modules. I use g-cpan under Gentoo which has (thus far) always set things up right for any given module I install. Can you suggest steps, or perhaps a primer or howto, for diagnosing this kind of library issue in general, or this one in particular? I'll attempt to contact the module maintainer too, perhaps something will come of that. Thanks friends! OF	[reply]

I already gave it to you :) You let ldd tell you which dynamic libraries Fuse.so needs, and then you add the directory paths where those libraries reside to LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
