I have previously criticised people for effectively posting a spec and asking someone to write it for them.

However this is the first time I've seen this happen literally, perhaps you should hire a programmer?

print "Good ",qw(night morning afternoon evening)[(localtime)[2]/6]," fellow monks."

My billing rate is $60/hour, with an eight hour minimum. Send me a private /msg if you wish to talk about a contract.

Deleting the original doesn't destroy the replies

It happens. We all ask the occasional thoughtless question. We feel bad. (I'm not proud of my node where I posted a bad link and got a lot of (deserved!) downvotes.)

Deleting the contents of the node doesn't do anything except make you look like you're trying to hide something. May I suggest in the future that you just strike-out anything you feel uncomfortable about and note that that's why you did it? You could even add "I misunderstood the purpose of Perlmonks - sorry" and everyone would think, "My, what a mature and cool person this is, to say s/he was mistaken in such a straightforward manner."

Wow, your local "friends" must be both rich and crazy.

Please go and ask them to buy me a new car with the money they're saving in programmer salaries.
