Database Access via OLEDB possible?

horshack has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have been using ODBC to access a Centura/Gupta-database in Windows. But in the newest version I have to pay for ODBC-access :-( Is it possible to access via OLEDB? Thanks, Horshack
