kleinbiker7 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Guys, this is not a Perl question, but since you have been excellent in answering my questions, I decided to bounce this one to you.

Netscape is my default browser

Currently when I email myself an HTML form to myself, if I open the emailed form in Netscape Mail, and click the submit button in the form, it goes to the correct webpage.

However, when I do the same thing in Outlook Express, I get a 404 Not Found error.

Does OE read form actions differently from Netscape?

Thanks! Robert

    I expect you have a relative url problem. If your form looks like:

    <FORM ACTION="/mysite.com/cgi-bin/mtscript.cgi" METHOD="POST">

    then because Internet Explorer cum OE regards C: as the root the path is wrong. As you no doubt know you can use IE to browse your system OR the web thus it needs to decide is the path a local one C:\ one an http:// one. Default is C:

    Asuming this is right it will work if you add http:// to make it a full path.

    Monks have been known to burn in the fires of Hades for asking off topic posts. Hopefully the gods will be kind to us. Cringe.
