Today masak announced his Perl 6 Coding Contest.

Five programming tasks (each solvable in a few hours, some even faster), five weeks time for them, and 100 Euro worth of books for the winner. Sounds like a lot of fun.

    More like Five mathematical programming tasks with many well known algorithms :)

      Indeed. The problems are well-known, and solutions should be easy to find. The interesting part of the challenge is wielding Perl 6 expertly in order to produce something readable, beautiful, and enjoyable.

    Well known algorithms in programs can't speed up incomplete and slow compilers, Can they?

      If applied inside the compiler, maybe

      If you think the point of the contest is to change a compiler, or gloss over imperfections of a compiler, you misunderstood something. Try reading the FAQ.
