The node got a (wrong) approval into monkdiscuss, as a Perl Monks Discussion, but was "later" (or at the same time) moved to be a Meditation. The second approval into Meditations then didn't take. I've now removed the approval into the wrong group and approved the node into the right group.

If you understand that then you're a better man than I am, Gunga Din!

Hmmm - let me try a different explanation then:
Approval and section membership are two different things in the DB (unfortunately).
Although the two, approval and section membership are different, they still need to be in concord (again, unfortunately).
A node of type a needs a matching approval into section A. If any approval already exists, no other approval can be added.
So, if a node of type a has approval A but then gets changed into type b, it cannot be approved into section B until the approval from section A is removed.

I saw two of your posts. Did you (try to) submit more?

Likewise will not allow approval by me.

Approval has nothing to do with posting replies. If you look in Recently Active Threads you'll see a (U) next to the post.
Alternatively, if you have the Approval nodelet enabled and you view the root level post, you'll see the '()approve' checkbox next to the '()frontpage' checkbox. Unlike the case if you view the OP of this thread where you'll see the annotation that marto approved my post.
