It means Anonymous Monk has the Strawberry Perl distribution of Perl for Windows and the Bloodshed Dev-C++ (MinGW) compiler for Windows installed on the D: drive of his or her computer. It means Anonymous Monk has the most recent versions of these software packages installed on his or her computer. Anonymous Monk is simply and plainly stating what his or her compilation environment is.

      What does it matter who posed the question? It was asked by Anonymous Monk, which implies the person who posted the inquiry doesn't want you to know who he or she is. (See the discussion thread Anonymous Monk? for multiple good explanations of this PerlMonks cultural norm.)

      Your very laconic "No" was snarky and unhelpful, bordering on rude. One wonders why you, Anonymous Monk, replied to Anonymous Monk's inquiry at all if you didn't have anything earnest and helpful to contribute. Your reply was just a tacit, vague criticism of Anonymous Monk's post, which, in my opinion, was an exemplary one. You had to be mercilessly picking nits to find any fault with the way Anonymous Monk posted his or her inquiry. If you genuinely needed another detail or two to help answer Anonymous Monk's question, then you should have just told him or her so plainly. "What version of Strawberry Perl are you using?" Simple.

      Have you successfully compiled PAR::Packer for Strawberry Perl (any version) using Dev-C++ (MinGW) before? If not, then you probably can't help Anonymous Monk, can you?
