tel2 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks,

I send emails to a list of people, some of whom are teenagers who check their Facebook regularly, but rarely check their email.  So, I'd like to write a Perl script which sends them a "Message" on Facebook, to ask them to check their email, when I send one to them.  I can handle the part which works out when to send the message, but I'm struggling with the part which sends the message.

I've found code like this: http://perlmonks.com/?node_id=760277 which logs me into Facebook, and captures the content, and I've had a look at http://search.cpan.org/dist/WWW-Facebook-API/, but it just confuses me.

Could someone please post some Perl code I can basically copy and paste (with minor mods perhaps), which logs into Facebook as me, and sends a message to someone else.  If your code requires me to know the Facebook ID of the recipient, that's fine.

Thanks.
