I don't think it's dead. (I haven't used it, but a quick search looks like there's still activity on his email list since last month). It appears that the author (a member of Perlmonks named spicyjack) still supports it. here's a link to the node he announced in this thread: Camelbox: A build of Gtk2-Perl for Windows
