Well, I didn't downvote you, but I will offer my wild guess at why you were downvoted. If you see this node in Worst Nodes, you will know I was wrong! You criticise a tutorial as being "dated". BUT ...

• You don't go into more detail, so readers can't make up their own minds whether your criticism is valid or not.
• You don't suggest anything better.
• You don't offer to improve the tutorial or write a better one.

This meant your node was entirely negative, being critical without being constructive. Therefore, it doesn't help readers. Now, we've all seen much worse and, as I said, it didn't reach my threshold for downvoting. But we all have different standards.
