For number 3, you could also suggest an alternative to the command lines docs. There is the Perl programming documentation online which is just as extensive as the perldocs that come with perl, however the website is clickable so a user can go from one item to a related item with relative ease. There is a plug-in for search boxes at Mycroft for Perldocs as well. I prefer the web docs over the command line docs. In my opinion, they are easier to read. The docs have many pretty colors. :)
