John M. Dlugosz has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I started reading the Moose manual, and it doesn't show things like the method declaration syntax that I see in some modules, and mentions things being moved to the deprecated section as newer stuff comes on board. The tutorials are not current

What is the current best practices or coolest stuff to really use among the extensions and add-ins?

    At the risk of sounding too negative, MooseX::Declare can make debugging very difficult (like poking a lunar rover). However, I find "plain old moose" as described in the manual to be straight-forward and robust.
