I think it is time that you learn a bit about Perl and searching for errors instead of asking mostly vague questions.

To help us help you better, please tell us what is wrong with the current script, and reduce the script to a minimal script that still exhibits the same problem but does not rely on external files or other things you have not posted. Also tell us how the "old format" differs from the "new format".

If you don't know anything of this, please consider hiring and paying somebody to do your work.
