OT: Outputting clive to file

rob171171 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi, I am using the command

clive --debug -O <logfile> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v....

and what i want to is to have the contecnts of debug written to file. Using the -O option writes the actual video to file as opposed to debug.

Having checked the man clive I can't see any way to do this but I'm sure their must be....Any ideas appreciated

Have you tried redirecting stderr to a file? (the man page claims debug messages go to stderr) The details depend on the shell, but usually it would just be `$ clive --debug ... 2>logfile` [download]	[reply] [d/l]

If you running on Linux/Unix, you can re-direct the debug information to a file: `clive --debug -O <logfile> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.... 2>>./localfile` Good Luck "Well done is better than well said." - Benjamin Franklin	[reply] [d/l]
