Is it possible to get a filename from a filehandle?

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

If some evil function returns a filehandle, is it then possible to get the filename extracted from the filehandle?

No. I think this is answered in better detail in the Perl FAQ...	[reply]
