open firefox browser using perl

mantest has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Guys I am new to Perl and wanted to know how to open an instance of Firefox browser and controlling the browser action like clicking , setting values to a text field etc. is there any packages related to Firefox? Thanks for your appreciation

As I'm sure that you already have searched CPAN for Firefox and evaluated the packages, can you please tell us what you found unsatisfactory about the packages, so we can better tailor our response to your needs?	[reply]

is there any packages related to Firefox Try Gtk2::Webkit and Gtk2::Webkit::Mechanize. It basically allows you to put a real firefox compatible web browser in your gui window. I'm not really a human, but I play one on earth. Old Perl Programmer Haiku ................... flash japh	[reply]

A colleague has written a web scraping proxy that sits between you and your favorite browser, emitting perl code to mimic your interaction with the web site. http://www.research.att.com/~hpk/wsp	[reply]
