But doing this would make it a lot less fun. It would be really unorganized, no XP would be earned, and it wouldn't be much of a competition to see who can get all of the programs done first.

        I'm saying, this is your idea, your project; you're the manager. You are free to make a node (or use your homenode or scratchpad) to start it. But don't expect the PerlMonks "powers" to pick it up and do it just because you think it would be a neat-o idea. We don't have the (human) resources for that.
