in reply to which netbook do you have and why?

This meditation, like my previous one perlmonks reccomended win32 programs, is an informal survey of perlmonks -- computing devices go hand in hand with programming :)

Re^2: which netbook do you have and why? (unreaped)

I have unreaped the root node. I believe it was considered in a manner at odds to documented policy and just barely made it past the reaping requirements (had one of the 'edit' votes been a 'keep' or vice versa, then it wouldn't have been reaped -- perhaps that is just a bug that should be fixed).

Just to be clear that this is not meant as encouragement, I will not be responding to the proffered question as I find it in the rather dark end of "gray" that is "off topic" and I may well downvote the node and/or replies to it as a mild form of discouragement.

It is most certainly not a Meditation. It shares no insights. It is seeking wisdom, just wisdom that is only very tangentially Perl-related. It is also an excellent example of "no effort". But I don't doubt that some will find the resulting information of some minor value.

Though I also find the consideration reason ("This has nothing to do with perl") to be incorrect. It just has precious little to do with Perl. And experience shows that the declaration of "no Perl here" is very often in error, especially if the declaration is worded quite strongly. Luckily, the vast majority of the stream of "no Perl" considerations no longer end in reaping. But I don't even consider this node so far off-topic to deserve the "move to the off-topic non-section" treatment.

    So does coffee.

Perhaps a poll would be a better fit for an informal survey.

Like mentioned in that other thread, we have informal surveys about editors, coding music, why not other software or computing devices?

And I didn't vote to reap the OP here. It's good form to label such posts OT (off topic). Since I haven't had my requisite 4 cups of Perl-topic yet, I'll add it's bad form to request explanations for the self-evident.

There are too many options for a poll
