(Running on Windows XP, Perl 5.8.8).
(stat 'file')[10] is supposed to return the inode modification time on Unix. I wonder what time is returned on Windows, because I see the following behaviour: I create a file from the CMD prompt, and later on, from Perl, I execute the following code:
After doing this, I found more often than not, that the ctime of the file is still the original (old) one from the first creation. I had expected that, since the unlink operation removes the file from the directory, the later creation should also set the "ctime" to a new value. Maybe some kind soul could explain, why this doesn't work as expected...unlink('file'); open(my $h,'>file'); print $h 'something'; close $h;
