Please explain what I'm missing. I looked at the following:

  • (despite the comments, the two are requires, not recommends)
• MooseX/Daemonize.pm#INCOMPATIBILITIES

None reported. Although obviously this will not work on Windows.

The only test that fails is

    ),
    "file contents rendered" ); 
ok -r $fn;
ok -s $fn;
my $perms = ( stat $fn )[2] & 07777;
is $perms, 0677;

If you skip reading perlport#Files and Filesystems, chmod, your test suites will fail because of false assumptions :)

The author should have used http://search.cpan.org/perldoc/Module::Install#recommends instead of requires

As for Moosex::Daemonize obviously not work on Windows, it could be made to work on windows, though not through signals

Thank you - it appears that my problem was stopping at the documentation versus checking the source and testing for myself; a valuable lesson and demonstration.
