    Hi Guys, I'm rather embarrassed by this, but it seems I've been a rather NOOB!. I've been using phpmyadmin as a web gui ( I thought I had checked via cli as well, but I was wrong, too much on my mind I guess). Any I turned on logging of commands and I can see that whenever I am viewing the DB tables, its sending a "TRUNC "...... arghh!!!.

    Anyway problem solved, sorry to waste your time. cheers.
