well i admit that response went right over my head, but i'm reading up on Apache2::Response to see if i can make any sense of it.

Why? sub CGI::Simple::header doesn't return a header under mod_perl, because mod_perl is not http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3875(CGI), so printing the header to STDOUT, is the wrong thing to do	[reply]
