Wink wink, I would not recommend trying it from inside the UK or USA.

As for how one can get in trouble, I'll leave that up to the imagination of anyone foolish enough to contemplate trying it. Suffice to say I hope for their sake if they do that the sysop of the system is incompetent, or that they use it from an untraceable location.

    I think the law concerning the subject is mostly aimed at restraining corporations from dossing each other, because they would if they could.

      Or that you don't have a nasty surprise while walking home through a dark alleyway because someone found out where you live, having logged your IP...

      What you definitely want the law to protect you from is hearing the words "Mr. xy is very unhappy what you did with his webshop." before someone is beating you up ;-)
