Comments Posting - Third Party Software

sumeetgrover has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi Monks,

I am looking for a third-party / off-the-shelf Perl code that implements a website comments posting system.

My company's website has several pages, and we'd like to plug-in an off-the-shelf software, which can associate comments with page id's and also implements comments moderation features (e.g. if someone posts an offensive comment.

We don't mind paying for it; does anyone know of such a software / codebase out there?

I emphatically recommend against Disqus. If users block web bugs (using Ghostery or other browser extensions), Disqus blocks them from viewing any comments and doesn't even present an error message, so users will think there aren't any comments.	[reply]

From two instances of use of Disqus (on Wired & Patheos) that I have seen, a comment is posted multiple times consecutively more often than not. That makes for a bad reading experience.	[reply]
