cr8josh has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Greetings!

I need to generate Pro Tools sessions and it seems the best way is to create OMF or AAF files which Pro Tools can import. Does anyone have any experience with this? They are open formats but all C++, as far as I can tell. Any pointers?<\p>

DEFINITELY want to stay in Perl

Thanks in advance!

I know nothing about Pro Tools, but if you have C++ descriptions of the structure of the files, you should be able to build them using perl's pack() builtin, unless this is a time-sensitive operation, in which case, perl may not be the right language.
