in reply to Is there a way to use perl script to reboot vmware workstation clients automatically from the host?

You may not need perl at all, if you use "vmrun", and have vmware tools installed in the WIn7 guest OS's.

See http://www.virtuatopia.com/index.php/How_to_Control_VMware_Virtual_Machines_from_the_Command-Line_using_vmrun.

More on the VIX API and vmrun: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vix162_vmrun_command.pdf.
