Baz has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
Hi,
I need to script some ASP sites for a friend of mine and was hoping to avoid VBScript at all costs. I've never programmed in ASP previously. I have done some Perl previously but I work mostly in Python.
I was wondering what your experiences have been using Perl as an alternative to Visual Basic when scripting in ASP Classic.
Is it stable? What versions have you worked in?
How did the experience compare with respect to other Scripting languages such as Python and Javascript, in the context of ASP?
Would you recommend ActivePerl when scripting in ASP?
Thanks,
Barry
