VSarkiss has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I'm starting on a new web site design project, and I'm thinking about using Mason, which I've read about in the past. The docs look great, it appears to work well with mod_perl, and it's under the same licensing terms as Perl.
Before I commit to it, though, I was wondering if anyone here has experience with it. Did it work as advertised? Were there any "gotchas"? If you had to use it a second time, would you be glad or upset?
The site design is in a very early stage, so I don't have a lot of characteristics to describe. There will be probably 8-10 forms, but with many elements per form. The database handling looks to be a lot more complicated than the UI. (Which is why I thought it would be a good time to try something new.)
