I am a third year MD/PhD student at the University of Kentucky. While my PhD is in biochemistry (technically), I do more bioinformatics than chemistry. Heck, there aren't any lab chemicals in my lab just intel inside. Perl was the first language I learned and the majority of my work is done in Perl. My research involves writing programs to help automate the analysis of mass spectrometry data for high-throughput metabolomics research.
