I'm sure many of you are familiar with the cartoon User Friendly. Well, the site dedicated to the strip and the UFie community now holds a lot more.

One thing that's going on right now is a poll about which language is most popular for developing web-based software. At the moment, Perl is a close second behind PHP, but the stats have been changing rapidly.

It's interesting to see where some of the languages / systems fall in relation to one another.

    As would be expected of these "web polls", this one is useless much like pretty much any other "web poll", for at least two reasons.

    First of all, Python isn't even mentioned.

    Second, why is "Perl" (or any of the other languages) one option and "ASP" another? This makes absolutely no sense. It's like asking "which editor do you prefer, vim or Unix?".
