There is no perfect solution when it comes to building a standalone executable from Perl.... As I mentioned, though, I have not tried it with Tk.

PAR/PerlApp/CavaPackager.. are all designed this purpose and work out of the box today -- perlc isn't and it won't work, it isn't any kind of solution to the problem of deploying self-contained perl apps.

My working standalone app that runs on multiple architectures begs to differ. Or perhaps it was a figment of my imagination and not really a binary :-O I only used perlc because it was the only one that played well with MagicErmine and was able to compile it all together in a statically linked binary I was able to share successfully. I'm not saying it's the best solution.	[reply]

The standalone app I was talking about comes from after MagicErmine compiles it into a statically linked binary.	[reply]
