I'm all for this. My main reason for being clear and liberal with comments is: I'm forgetful. When adding a small feature or fixing a tiny bug (is there such a thing?), the last thing I want to do is spend the whole afternoon (and burn a bunch of neurons, not to mention feeling so stupid) trying to figure out my own program.
