Using perl for web actions

perlcub has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Use Wireshark to find out what a real browser sends when performing these tasks, automate with LWP (see also lwptut). Failing that consider removing the WWW::Mechanize restriction.	[reply]

Also see Yes, even you can use CPAN. There is very little reason not to use WWW::Mechanize, especially if you already have LWP available.	[reply]
