Getting RSS/XML from outer source.

huchister has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Let say I want to get XML value into PERL value something like this.
<media:group>test</media:group>
Will this works? or What would be the correct answer to this
my $media = $xml->{'media:group'};
