Config file failures

krisbrowne42 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am working on a script which uses 2 external files: 1 is a config file holding user info, the other would be a tab separated file. I read the user info into the proper variables at the begin of that loop, then read each line of the tab-sep file, split it into an array, and it all goes into respective DBs. Where i'm hitting a stumbling block is that the user file needs references to the array that's created by the tab-sep file, and instead of properly resolving, the variables just go into the DB as they are. This is a small portion of a much larger script, so i don't know if it's worth posting the code.... Any ideas? Thanks!!

Yes, how about posting the code? :) You don't have to post the entire script, just the portion that is wreaking havoc. You wrote that "the user file needs references to the array that..." What does that mean? Why would a file need an array reference? If you could post the relevant code (a small test case would be great) we can likely get a better idea of your intent and be able to give you some pointers. As it is, there are a variety of ways I could interpret your question. The code will reveal all. Yes, how about posting the code? :) You don't have to post the entire script, just the portion that is wreaking havoc. You wrote that "the user file needs references to the array that..." What does that mean? Why would a file need an array reference? If you could post the relevant code (a small test case would be great) we can likely get a better idea of your intent and be able to give you some pointers.
