We have some misunderstanding here. This is not about politics. I am not working on any web related project, so I am not trying to making any decision base on popularity. I am only curiuous about the data. I 100% agree that it is important to pick the right tool for right thing, and that's what I did. Whenever I work on a project which requires strong regexp supporting, I always choose Perl.
