That falls into the "countless hours rewriting the code" category. Resetting the variables manually is error-prone when the script is large, but it's mostly just time consuming, unless you have VarStructor. It doesn't indicate a big ball of mud, and you don't know how I structure my script, what comments I have, and what other supporting material there is. And it works.
